Continuing my 10-award sweep in 2017, this “Summer Theme” sponsorship page for the Augusta County SPCA earned 3rd Place in the Multiple Advertisers and Themed Pages category. This category (A10) evaluates themed pages and greeting ads based on design quality and the effectiveness of conveying the advertiser’s message to the community.

Design Strategy:

  • Cohesive Seasonal Narrative: Developed a bright, beach-inspired summer theme featuring colorful sunglasses and ocean-themed graphic accents to keep the monthly adoptable pet content fresh and engaging.
  • Complex Grid Management: Professionally balanced eleven individual pet profiles and their specific biographies with respective local business sponsorship blocks.
  • Mission-Driven Layout: Seamlessly combined the newspaper’s community mission of supporting pet adoption with a structured advertising sponsorship model.
  • Visual Hierarchy: Maintained a clean, professional flow that allowed both the adoptable animals and the supporting local businesses to receive prominent visibility.
